On our search of Austin and surrounding area restaurants, one of our latest stops was Bo Asian Bistro in Round Rock's super shopping center, La Frontera.
This elegant little restaurant serves up the cuisines of Thailand, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and elsewhere in the Far East. Which means you'll find many of the items on the menu that you might expect when dining at a Chinese restaurant, plus even more healthful Asian dishes. And from what we found... all are made with care and result in very happy patrons.
Between the careful preparation of each dish to please the eyes and the classy feel of the place, you'll feel as though you're in a pricy restaurant. However, it was impressive to find that the prices were quite the opposite. And though it has that bistro feeling that attracts executive business people and couples, it is a family restaurant as well.
Our meal began with a couple of appetizers, Deep Fried Calamari with Spicy Salt and the Pan Fried Pork Dumplings. They were both teriffic, and the Calamari ranks right up there with our top few favorites in the Austin area. The Curry Shrimp, was cooked just right, and was very flavorful. Actually that was an item we wouldn't normally order but will most likely be having again soon.
The menu also has a section for you to build your on entree. Where you'll choose your own ingredients, (meat and veggies) and your own sauces. This is a nice way to make sure you get exactly the dish you would appreciate most.
Back to the pricing... This is the perfect place to go for lunch if you work anywhere in the area. Their lunch prices are VERY affordable. If you work at Dell, you should never even consider the fast food chains nearby. The price is about the same, and you will be much more satisfied. Since they do cater, that would mean a very affordable meal for a large crowd.
Everything served to us at Bo Asian Bistro was of the highest caliber in both taste and presentation. We definitely recommend that you try this restaurant. (They do deliver as well.) Oh, and keep an eye out... They intend to start bringing in live music very soon along with serving wine and beer.
