Want to take a break from the seemingly never-ending stress of everyday life?  Take a short trip out to Cafe Blue on Lake Travis either by boat or car.  You'll find the fine-casual dining restaurant on Lime Creek Road close to Volente.

We found the restaurant which overlooks the waters of Lake Travis to be a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere, that is even more pronounced around sunset.  This makes a great place for friends and family to meet up for dinner and drinks, while enjoying the view.   Cafe Blue feels more like a private club restaurant rather than one which is open to the public, (on the lake) but it most certainly is open for all to enjoy.

That comfortable setting is then followed up with the food you would expect to complete the package.  You'll find a variety of dishes and appetizers ranging from the Blue Crab Cakes,  Calamari and Island Ceviche to steaks, shrimp and Jamaican Jerked Chicken and a sizeable drink menu to go with it all.

If you're into seafood, we would recommend the Antonio's Stuffed Shrimp, which is jumbo butterflied shrimp with a lump crab stuffing, then topped with robust garlic cream sauce and parmesan cheese.  For the sides with this dish are rice pilaf and a creamed spinach that we really couldn't get enough of.

We also really loved the Pepper Crusted New York Strip.  This very tender and juicy steak is topped with candied pecans, blue cheese & scallions and a demi glace combination that will seriously get your taste buds jumping for joy.

They also do Brunch on weekends with omelets, Eggs Benedict, waffles, migas and more.  We recommend that everybody try this relatively new restaurant on the lake.  They suffered a bit of a set back last year with the drastic changes in lake levels, but they are alive, strong and poised to be the newest Lake Travis restaurant powerhouse.  Check it out, and let us know what you think.
