Great news for the people of Leander. Their community has been growing lately and with the new Lowes coming to town and the recent arrival of HEB plus... surely several restaurants will follow.
Recently Leander residents, Wayne and Kay Mueller got things started with a quaint little cafe on the edge of town called Moody's. The location is about a block before you reach the new HEB, and has been remodeled into a very nice looking restaurant.
Moody's serves up breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday, as well as gourmet coffees. You can choose to dine in, or drive through services are available.
We are tickled to have found this restaurant. They serve up a number of sandwiches, plus soups, salads, quiche, desserts, cinnamon rolls, scones and breakfast. It makes a nice addition to the city of Leander, who frankly do not have very many restaurants to choose from.
We tried several different things... Chef Salad, Potato Soup, French Onion Soup, and a terriffic panini grilled sandwich called the "Turkey Avocado Ranch". A hot sandwich made with foccacia bread and Golden Roast turkey, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and house made avocado ranch dressing. (absolutely awesome sandwich!) Not to make light of the other items, you MUST try the soups.
Aside from the very affordable pricing, the nice thing about Moody's is the kitchen mastermind is well qualified for the job. Curtis Mueller, a graduate of the Texas Culinary Academy and his team make everything on location, serve it up hot, then present each plate in a style you might expect from a fine dining restaurant.
We are definitely looking forward to getting back there soon to try other items on the menu. You gotta love a great local restaurant, especially when they bring their "A" game.
Moody's also has special dinners frequently at night or on holidays... check out the website link above for more info, and try it out for yourself...
