Nino's Pizza Austin, Texas

How about a slice of authentic New York or Sicilian pizza? Check out Nino's Pizza in northwest Austin at the corner of Lake Creek Parkway and 183 (Research Blvd.). Brooklyn native Ambrogio Buraglia, chef and owner of Nino's has been doing his thing for over 20 years. He learned his craft from his father Gaetano "Nino" Buraglia, who passed down years of experience in making authentic Italian cuisine.
The result... terrific New York pizza in Austin, Texas. This is a modest pizza joint with all of the focus being on the food. Not too fancy, not too shabby either. Just a comfortable spot for families to enjoy a meal. They make gourmet pizzas, calzones, baked sub sandwiches, salads and pastas.
Our recommendation is that you definitely try the Nino's Deluxe. The large is 18 inches of New York style crust (with a dough & sauce recipe that only Ambrogio knows), topped with pepperoni, sausage, ham, meatballs, mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives, onions and of course lots of cheese. This pizza scores big with all of us meat lovers, who like our pizza loaded up with plenty. Don't eat meat? Try the White Pizza which is made with ricotta, provolone and mozzerella cheeses, fresh tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. (Lots of flavor to go around!)
If you're dropping in for lunch, they also sell pizza by the slice and make a delicious oven baked sub. We love the New Yorker. This sandwich is sure to satisfy just about any size appetite, with ham, mortadella, salami, capicolla and pepperoni. The home made sauce that completes this sandwich is spectacular and we really appreciate the generous portions.
Stop by on Friday nights and enjoy a little Austin tradition of live acoustic music and a little New York tradition of pizza. Make sure you say hi to Ambrogio. (one of the nicest guys you may ever meet) You'll generally find him where he loves to be... right near the oven, perfecting your meal. (ciao)
