Springhill Menu         

Being native Austinites, loving simple home style comfort food runs in our blood.  The kind of feeling that draws us to order a Chicken Fried Steak at just about every restaurant that serves it.  Years ago our family would load up and drive out to Spinghill Restaurant in Bee Cave and thouroughly enjoy the simplicity of a great Chicken Fried Steak or Fried Catfish plate.  We love stuff like fried okra and mashed potatoes.

Since then, Springhill has been making leaps and bounds in the restaurant arena with more locations in Pflugerville, East Austin.  The one thing you'll likely hear from most of their customers... Springhill's food is consistently very good.  After years and years of doing their thing, it's still very much, if not exactly the same as the early days.

This is definitely a family restaurant.  You won't get your food served on fine china.  It's more like attending a fun family or church picnic.  The decor is that of a popular small town diner, and like a great small town diner they have a strong following of loyal customers.

At a place like this, people expect to get large portions of food and that's exactly what they get.  The Chicken Fried Steak is huge!  Not to mention it's a fantastic, choice cut of steak with a crispy fried breading and delicious white gravy, generously poured over the top.  You can get this dish with mashed potatoes, (also goes good with the gravy) or french fries and of course the Texas Toast.  We recommend this place for anyone, who like us, is a self-appointed Chicken Fried Steak critic.

Catfish and Shrimp lovers won't be disappointed either.  They serve up crisp pipin' hot fried catfish and shrimp.  The Catfish Platter is nothing short of a feast that would please any Texan.  If somebody in the group is trying to eat light, they will find a "Light Side" menu also.

The prices at Springhill are reasonable, you can get the carry-out Family Catfish Pack that is meant for 4 people, including 20 fillets, pinto beans, cole slaw, hush puppies, lemon wedges and tartar sauce for only $29.99.  Or try them out at lunch (from 11 - 2) for the "All you can eat" buffet.  Adults for
