We dropped in to the new Surf & Turf Restaurant at the Railyard in Cedar Park on a cold, rainy day.  On days like this one you really need something to warm the insides, so we ordered their "Hot Style Seafood & Sausage Gumbo".  What an excellent choice.  We loved the Gumbo so much we called friends and family and told them about it the same day. 

Having been to the larger and much more expensive seafood restaurants, you'll find that Surf & Turf makes the same sort of exceptional food for much more affordable prices.  And like the those places, their seafood is flown in fresh daily too.  In fact, it's a beautiful thing for Cedar Park who didn't really have any seafood restaurants before.

It's not a fancy place, you won't find the lights dimmed or soft music playing but what a terrific little family atmosphere with great American food and Seafood.  It's no wonder that popular Austin critics are raving about them.

Of course we recommend the Gumbo, but you may want to try the the Shrimp Kabobs, Steak and Shrimp or the Blackened Catfish too.  You'll find a large assortment on the menu... Everything from Crawfish, Oysters, Po Boys and other unique sandwiches to Chicken Fried Steaks, Chowder, Ribeyes and Stuffed Crab, and still lots more.

If you're out with the family considering a stop at one of the fast food chains, stop that thought... you can get a 1/2 pound burger at Surf & Turf for only $5.99.  You may spend just a little more, but you certainly won't regret it.

By the way, during our visit we happened to hear another pleasantly surprised customer who was really raving about their Chicken Fried Steaks.  That will most certainly be next on our list of items to try.  If you get there first... shoot us an email, let us know what you think.
