You may be looking for someplace good to eat where your "not so mighty" dollar will go a little further. Well we found a place in west Austin that approaches both of those concerns at once. The Hub. The Hub is a restaurant that specializes in burgers, salads, sandwiches and fun. They're located at the corner of Dry Creek Drive and 2222 just a few blocks west of Mopac.
If you're planning to watch the big game... take your friends and family to the Hub's "Back Porch" and watch the game on a HUGE projection TV which has a great picture even when it's sunny outside. It's a comfortable setting for a large group of people who can get as loud as they want while having a cold beer and delicious food. Click here for the event calendar.
Then the only question might be: Fatty or Flatty? In other words, would you like The Hub's juicy 1/2 pound burger or if you're eating lighter, saving room for dessert, or having a shake with your burger, you can get the 1/4 pound patty. Either way the burgers are made with fresh 100% Angus beef which is never frozen and special "Hub" seasoning.
Aside from burgers, salads and sandwiches you'll also find wings, hot dogs, fried pickles, nachos, chicken strips and hand-cut fries, kettle chips & tortilla chips made in house, desserts, shakes and of course beer and wine.
The Ranch Roast Beef sandwich came highly recommended and we would like to pass on that recommendation to you. We were in the process of enjoying this stellar sandwich made with thin sliced roast beef, swiss cheese, shredded lettuce and ranch dressing and raving about how good it was while a nearby table was giving their confirmation to "The Hub BLT". Another favorite of ours is the Italian Beefsteak. Which is reminiscent of a Philly sandwich but made with a special blend of peppers imported from PA. (mmmmmm)
Got a large appetite? Try the "Billy Mac Attack". This is the ultimate Hub burger stacked with a triple flatty stack, topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. Warning, this is a HUGE burger, come hungry. You can even order a special meal that comes with two "fatty" burgers, fries, sundae, and a bottle of Dom Pérignon.
We absolutely loved everything about The Hub, and recommend that you try for yourself as soon as possible. You will certainly want to return. We did. (Only two days after our first trip.)
By the way... The Hub can accomodate your party on their shady Back Porch or they can cater your party or gathering. Give them a call and find out more.
