In Cedar Park there are many fast food restaurants to choose from, but there aren't many places one might take a date.  We found an exception to that rule in the Railyard on 1431... Traxx Restaurant.

Traxx is a family casual restaurant which comes off as elegant and classy, but not a "whispers only" kind of place.  It is just the sort of place for a special night.  The ambiance is just right to sit down with an entree' that seems like fine dining, but without the prices you might expect to pay for such meals.

On a Saturday night we found the daily special... Steak and shrimp for less than $15.  The steak was cooked just the way it was ordered and the shrimp were right on the money as well.  It was served with a "made from scratch" steak sauce on the side.  That's right, there are no bottles of mass produced sauces sitting on the tables.  The owner of the restaurant proudly let us know that all sauces, dressings and marinades are made from scratch there.  For instance, you may want to try the Salmon and the lemon dill dressing that is served with it.  One comment was, "It tastes just like what we make at home.".

If you are looking for a burger, you may want to skip the fast food chains.  The burgers at Traxx are large, never frozen, and loaded with all of the things you would expect on a burger.  But in this versatile restaurant you'll find something for whatever mood you may be in.  From burgers to steaks, to seafood, to comfort foods, real mashed potatoes, to Italian food all made with a little Traxx know how.  Where even the green beans are made with a special Traxx touch.

This restaurant opened it's doors in October of 2006 and appears to have gotten a grip on how to please the public and does some catering.  If you're looking to dine somplace unique and classy with good food, yet  reasonably priced... give 'em a try.
