Mexican restaurants are pretty easy to find all over Austin, Georgetown, Round Rock and other surrounding areas.  Here's a suggestion for Mexican food lovers to try out.   Tortilleria y Taqueria El Jarocho Georgetown, TX.  If we understand it correctly...  Jarocho describes a part of Mexico from which this food hails.  

Wherever this food comes from...  We want more.  El Jarocho is located on Leander Rd in Georgetown about a block or two west of IH 35.  This is a small restaurant who has quickly figured out that their popularity in the neighborhood demands more tables.  We understand that project is already in the works.  

Why is this litlle Taqueria so popular?  Well it starts with hand made tortillas.  That's a great start.  These tortillas are so fresh, that often when you get a taco, the tortilla has just been made.  As the name states "Tortilleria",  these guys actually make tortillas to be sold to other popular Mexican restaurants.

You'll probably have to make two or three visits to try all of the fantastic tacos.  The Dining512 crew are definitely seafood fanatics.  So getting a delicious fish taco, ranks pretty high on our list of good times.  El Jarocho's fish tacos are lightly breaded and fried to a golden, brown finish that had us wanting to dig in before the pictures could be taken.  Delicious!  You choose from one of their (secret recipe) home made sauces to add to your taco, squeeze a little lime on...  The end result is great.

Sticking with the seafood for a minute...  We also loved the shrimp tacos.  Chopped shrimp, marinated and seasoned for a tasty product, then topped with cilantro, onion and wrapped in a wonderful hand made tortilla.  We love for the shrimp to get chopped on dishes like this.  The more shrimp you jam into that tortilla, the better!

Our favorite...  the Jarocho Chicken Taco.  This is a must try item at this place.  Seriously, you GOTTA try this.  El Jarocho has created a chicken taco with lots of flavor.  This taco made with shredded chicken and hot melted mozzerella, will leave you wanting another, and maybe...  another.  Hats off to the chef on this one.

There's lots of good food to talk about at El Jarocho, like their Mexican Hamburger, Mexican Hotdogs, Breakfast tacos and of course their Jarocho Chicken Quesadilla.  This is a golden fried quesadilla wrapped around their delicious smoked chicken.  (Great smoked flavor by the way)  It's then topped with avacado, queso fresco, lettuce, tomato and sour cream.  Once again, we think you will love this.  But don't take our word for it, go and try for yourself.  As usual, we would love to hear your feedback.
